Boil-in-Bag Procedure - Continued

7. Using a silicone oven mitt, place frozen food pouches one at a time into the preheated water bath.

8. The BIB unit has capacity to hold up to ten (10) 5-lb frozen pouches.

DO NOT attempt to overfill as this could result in an overflow,

creating the potential for personal injury.

9. Heat all products to

165°F

... approximate heating time will be between 45 and 90 minutes depending on pouch

size and type of food product.

10. Remove pouches individually, using tongs and a silicone oven mitt.

Verify product has reached

165°F

by folding the pouch over a digital

probe-style thermometer.

11. After heating, allow pouch to sit for approximately one (1) minute.

12. Using scissors, cut open the pouch and pour contents into a clean

pan, ready for sale.

Use extreme caution when placing pouches into HOT water and

do so slowly to prevent splash. Scalding injury is possible

should hot water from an unexpected splash contact bare skin.
