5. Enable access to modem services by typing:

services access enable modem0

services access enable modem1

6. Add a static route for the modem interfaces by typing:

configure ip-route add modem0

[destination IP] [destination mask]

[next hop/gateway] [metric]

configure ip-route add modem1

[destination IP] [destination mask]

[next hop/gateway] [metric]

Note

When setting up static routes, type the short-cut

conf ip a ?

to get a list of all required arguments.

Consult your router documentation for static route configuration guidelines.

7. To configure the answer mode of the modem, type:

configure modem mode modem

[n] [callback or auto-answer]

8. If the mode is set to callback, configure the callback parameters by typing:

configure modem callback modem

[n] [Location description] [phone number]

For example:

configure modem callback modem0 Central_Site 203-555-5555

9. Configure the type of modem in use at each enabled modem interface by typing:

configure modem use

[internal or external]

modem

[n]

Note

You will not be able to configure the SC-ADT for use with external modem0 or external modem1 if the
associated port (Port1 or Port2, respectively) is in Terminal Server Mode and in use, or is in Transport Mode.

10. You have completed modem configuration for the SC-ADT. Check your configured options for

each modem by typing any of the following commands:
