Maintenance Procedures
Closed Suction Test:
The purpose of the Closed Suction Test is to confirm that the GeVentor returns to default settings when suction is stopped. The
test allows the confirmation that the PEEP does not drop below 5 cmH
2
O when the suction catheter is advanced to the test lung.
To conduct the Closed Suction Test, follow the steps outlined below:
1.
Disconnect the GeVentor from the patient.
2.
Attach a test lung to the patient circuit.
3.
Attach the suction catheter (item 11) with the test lung as shown below:
