OPERATION

Attachment Hydraulic Hose Installation (if equipped)

•

Identify the pressure and return lines before
connecting, contact your machine’s distributor
for the correct information or procedure. Reverse
oil flow may result in attachment damage.

•

Longer hoses maybe required when the quick
coupler is installed due to the increased
attachment swing radius.

•

Contain and dispose of any oil leakage in an
environmentally safe manner.

Route the hydraulic lines to the attachment.

Install the hydraulic hoses.

Enter the machine and start the engine.

Raise boom to allow full extension and retraction of upper
link cylinder without the attachment contacting the
ground.

Fully extend upper link cylinder.

Check that hydraulic lines do not become caught, tight,
pinched or rub against boom or attachment.

Fully retract upper link cylinder.

Check that hydraulic lines do not become caught, tight,
pinched or rub against boom or attachment.

Quick Coupler Operation Check

AVOID SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH

Failure to visually check that quick coupler is
“FULLY ENGAGED AND LOCKED” before operating
can allow the attachment to fall off causing death or
serious injury.

Roll out the quick coupler, cycle the bucket cylinder fully
back and forth to check that the attachment is fully
engaged and locked to the quick coupler

Visually check that the quick coupler is fully engaged and
locked before operating the machine and attachment.

NOTE: If the locking clasp (1) and sliding hook (2)

[Figure 21] are fully engaged and locked to
the attachment, the quick coupler can be used
to operate the attachment.

NOTE: If the locking clasp (1) [Figure 21] is not

visibly  in  position  in  front  of  the  front
attachment  pin,  the  attachment  must  be
disconnected  from  the  quick  coupler.  The
quick  coupler  and  attachment  must  be
thoroughly inspected for debris or damage.

NOTE: Contact your Geith distributor for repair or

replacement parts. Upon removal of debris or
repair of the quick coupler, repeat the
installation process.
