OPERATION

Mechanical Quick Coupler

AVOID SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH

•

Keep  attachment  close  to  ground  during
engaging  or  releasing  attachment.  Attachment
can  fall  off  without  warning  if  not  FULLY
ENGAGED  AND  LOCKED  causing  death  or
serious injury.

•

Failure to fully engage front and rear safety locks
before operating can allow the attachment to
come off.

Ensure the pin centers of the attachment to be used are
within the minimum and maximum range of the model
quick coupler being used (See Overall Dimensions on
Page 5-2). Attachments with pin centers greater than the
maximum range of the quick coupler will NOT be properly
retained.

With the quick coupler (1) open, Lower the quick coupler
and engage the front pin (2)

Always lift with the quick coupler vertical, allowing the
attachment link pin to contact the coupler body

Do not extend drive bar (by use of extension tube,
etc.) over tightening may result in difficulty releasing
the attachment, or damage to the mechanism.

Install the drive bar (1) onto the cylinder drive shaft at the
back of the engaging plate. While tightening, the locking
clasp (2)

will close over the front pin securing

the attachment to the Quick-Coupler.

Continue tightening until the engaging plate (3)

[Figure 20]

is under the attachment link pin.

Remove the drive bar and store in excavator cab.

Install attachment hydraulic hoses (if equipped). See
Attachment Hydraulic Hose Installation (if equipped) on
Page 3-9.

Perform operational check on the quick coupler. See
Quick Coupler Operation Check on Page 3-9.
