Shaft Assembly
Shaft Assembly Checks
To manually check activation, unplug the washer
and turn the drive pulley to the right. The pulsator
should easily turn in the same direction. Turn the
pulley to the left; the activator should easily turn in
that direction.
To check spin, manually move the brake lever
toward the brake motor to release the brake and
engage the clutch. Rotate the pulley to the right; the
tub should rotate to the right.
Failure to operate as described requires a shaft
assembly replacement.
Shaft Assembly Removal
1. Remove the wash basket, belt protector, and
belt.
NOTE: If the outer tub is not removed as an
assembly, to access the shaft assembly, the washer
can be carefully placed on its front or side. To
prevent scratches to the surface of the washer,

NOTE: The tub seal comes with and is pressed onto
the shaft assembly.
Capacitor
The capacitor is used to start the drive motor. It is
located on the bottom of the washer, attached to
the platform.
Capacitor Removal
1. With the washer lying on its side, and
disconnected from power, safely discharge the
capacitor.
2. Disconnect the harness connectors from the
capacitor.
3. Remove one (8 mm/Phillip’s) duel head bolt.
