Operation levels of the protection units are entered by unit, referred to the nominal active power, calculated from the
NOMINAL_S
and
POWER FACTOR
settings:
NOMINAL P = NOMINAL_S * POWER FACTOR
NOMINAL Q = NOMINAL_S *
√
(1- POWER FACTOR* POWER FACTOR)
Settings for each of the four units are as follows:
Enabling unit 32_X (ENABLE 32_X):
This setting determines whether the protection unit is operative and can issue pickup events (if the trip is also enabled, then
it will activate the trip contact) that can be configured to close outputs, light up LEDs or trigger the oscillography.
Trip of unit 32_X (TRIP ENABLE 32_X):
This setting selects if the relay can issue a trip under a maximum power condition, where the power value exceeds the trip
threshold set.
Power type 32_X ( Power 32_X):
This setting selects the type of power: active, reactive or apparent, that will be considered to compare settings.
32_X Minimun/Maximun:
This setting selects if the unit is for Maximum or Minimum power.
32_X Forward/Reverse:
This setting selects the direction, forward or reverse, of the power unit.
Apparent power is always Forward
.
32 X Alarm Level:
Each 32_X unit has two Operation levels. The first level, less critical, is aimed to produce an alarm. The alarm unit can be
configured as an output or LED to indicate the operator that the power level exceeds the set level, and corrective measures
must be taken to correct the situation and prevent a trip. This value is set per unit.
32_x Alarm Delay:
This setting defines the alarm operation time. When the alarm level is reached, if the condition is maintained during the
Alarm Delay time, the MIWII will produce an alarm signal.
32_x Trip Level:
This setting sets the activation level of the tripping unit, in value per unit.
32_x Trip Delay:
This setting defines the trip operation time. When the trip level is reached, if the condition is maintained during the Trip
Delay time, the MIWII will produce a trip, lighting up the front trip LED and closing the trip contact.
Block after connection (Block 32_x From Start):
By means of this setting it is posible to block the Protection unit operation during several seconds after the coupling breaker
close. The breaker position must be wired to the MIWII. This setting inhibits the MIWII pickup during the connection,
enabling the current and voltage stabilization without producing undesired trips.
