23.2.1
Emergency scenarios
This chapter covers a number of emergency scenarios and recommended actions to ensure
safe operation of the X100 and its environment.
23.2.2
FTS command
The FTS command requires the X100 to abort the flight immediately.
●
The X100 autopilot will power down the motor and try to keep a safe air speed by pitching
down and descending in a spiral.
●
The X100 will orbit down until 15 m AGL, and then turn to the programmed wind (scan
zone) heading.
●
When the X100 is below 15 m AGL, the X100 immediately levels its wing and glides to the
terrain.
As the use of FTS has a major impact (flight abortion, motor cutoff (cannot be undone), a
pop-up window appears to confirm the FTS command.
The FTS command can be executed during take-off, cruise flight and landing.
The FTS command can also override the HOLD, HOME, LEFT, RIGHT and GO HERE pattern.
When?
The FTS command should be used when the X100 needs to be removed from the air as quickly
as possible.
23.2.3
HOLD command
The HOLD command puts the X100 in an orbit pattern (radius ~150 m) at its current location
and at:
●
The cruise flight altitude in case the X100 was taking off.
●
Its cruise flight altitude in case of cruise flight.
●
Its current altitude in case the X100 was proceeding for the entry point and did not yet
start orbiting down to 75 m.
The HOLD command has no effect when the X100 is below 50 m AGL.
The mapping process is halted.
The HOLD command can also override the HOME, LEFT, RIGHT and GO HERE pattern.

When the HOLD command is released (click the button again), following happens:

During cruise flight, the X100 flies to the next waypoint and continues its mapping process
according to the flight plan. The X100 will have skipped a part of the flight plan.
