In case of
Failsafes
23.1.9
Handle loss of GPS lock during flight
Scenario:
The X100 has lost its GPS lock. The GPS status bar field in Horizon turns red.
1.
An automatic fail-safe mechanism is triggered. The X100 will orbit at its location and alti
-
tude for 20 s. If the X100 does not reacquire the GPS signal, the X100 autopilot will
self-issue the FTS command and spiral down to the terrain (it will not turn to the measured
takeoff heading).
23.1.10 Handle a fatal error during flight
Scenario:
There is a hardware malfunction of the X100 autopilot (e.g. accelerometer failure). Horizon
displays a red warning message in the warning message strip. The X100 icon on the screen
of your GCS colors red. Be careful: there is no automatic fail-safe mechanism that prevents
you from arming and launching the X100. It is your responsibility to take the appropriate
actions.
1
Do one of the following:
●
Issue the
Land
command when the flight behavior of the
X100 is not impacted.
●
Issue the FTS command when the flight behavior of the X100 is impacted.
23.1.11 Handle a motor failure during flight
Scenario:
There is a motor or Electronic Speed Control (ESC) failure. The throttle will go to 100% and
the X100 will lose height.
1.
An automatic fail-safe mechanism is triggered. The X100 will glide to the ground while
following its flight path. If the situation is too critical, you should issue the LAND or FTS
command depending on the landing location.
23.1.12 Handle undershoot in the final leg of the landing
Scenario:
Meteorological phenomena can influence the landing of the X100 and cause an undershoot
towards the intended landing point.
1.
Issue the GS_UP(S) command to move the X100's aiming point 25 m forward.
23.1.13 Handle overshoot in the final leg of the landing
Scenario:
Meteorological phenomena can influence the landing of the X100 and cause an overshoot
towards the intended landing point.
1.
Issue the GS_DOWN(S) command to move the landing point of theX100 25 m backward.
