Slide the drive release latch back to unlock the drive, then slide the drive
forward and out of the drive bay.

Slide the new drive into the drive bay.

Slide the drive release latch forward to lock the drive into place. You do
not need to replace the thumbscrew because it was originally installed for
shipping purposes.

Reconnect the drive cables using your notes from Step 3 . If you are
installing a new drive, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Replace the front bezel by following the instructions in “Replacing the
front bezel” on page 14 .

Replace the side panel by following the instructions in “Replacing the side
panel” on page 15 .
Adding or replacing the memory card reader
To replace the memory card reader:

Remove the side panel by following the instructions in “Removing the side
panel” on page 12 .

Remove the front bezel by following the instructions in “Removing the
front bezel” on page 14 .

If you are adding a memory card reader, go to Step 7 .
- OR -
If you are replacing a memory card reader, proceed to the next step.

Disconnect the memory card reader cables, noting their locations and
orientation. (You will reconnect the cables after you install the new
memory card reader.)
