Problem
Possible Reason
The Solution
There are residues of
coffee powder within the
coffee.
Using the re-usable filter:
Very fine particles within
the coffee powder slip
through the nylon mesh.
This is unavoidable.
- Wait some minutes until the particles deposit on the
bottom of the steel carafe. Then pour slowly and care-
fully.
- Check the re-usable filter for any damage of the nylon
mesh (see next entry).
- Use paper filter bags.
Using the re-usable filter:
The nylon mesh of the re-
usable filter is damaged.
Some small amounts of extremely fine coffee powder in
the coffee are unavoidable. If there are even large parti-
cles, replace the re-usable filter. Contact your vendor.
Always handle the re-usable filter with care. Any hard or
sharp-edged objects could damage the nylon mesh.
Using filter bags: The filter
bag is damaged.
Before usage, ensure that the filter bag is undamaged
and the seam is closed correctly. Unsuited filter bags may
tear, when they are already wet while lining the filter
basket.
Overflow of the filter.
See above: ‘The coffee runs out at the rim of the filter
basket and/or the steel carafe.’
You forgot the filter when
assembling the filter sys-
tem.
Before starting operation, always ensure that the appli-
ance is prepared completely and correctly for operation.
This holds especially when using the timer, because in
this case the appliance starts operation unattendedly.
The filter bag collapsed
during the brewing cycle.
When using filter bags without the splash shield, the fil-
ter bag may collapse during grinding or brewing. In this
case the coffee powder may be flushed into your coffee.
For operation, always cover the filter bag via the splash
shield.
The control panel does not
shut-off.
A function of the appliance
is still running.
This is intended. The illuminated control panel with the
on/off button or timer button shown in red indicate that
the appliance is still in operation.
Your coffee is too strong
or too weak.
Insufficient amount ratio
of water and coffee pow-
der.
The appliance always uses the complete content of the
water tank for each brewing cycle. Adapt the settings of
the appliance to the amount of water (see: ‘Tips for Best
Results’). Measure out the required amount of water
using the filling level indicator at the right side of the
water tank.
