The temperature rating for the GPSMAP 76S may exceed the usable range of some batteries. Alkaline batteries can rupture at
high temperatures. Alkaline batteries lose a signifi cant amount of their capacity as temperature decreases. Use lithium batteries
when operating the GPSMAP 76S in below-freezing conditions. Extensive use of screen backlighting will signifi cantly reduce
battery life.
