Chain lubricants
The life of the chains and the guide bars depends to a great extent on
the quality of the lubricant used. Do not use old oil! Only use
environmentally innocuous chain lubricant. Only store the chain
lubricant in containers that fulfill the regulations.
Guide bar
The guide bar has more wear on its bottom side and on its tip. In order
to avoid the wearing down of one side, turn the guide bar every time
that you sharpen the chain.
Dragging pinion
The dragging pinion has more wear than the parts. If you appreciate
wearing down marks on the teeth of the dragging pinion, it should be
replaced by a specialized technical service.
Bar cover
The bar cover should be put on as work has been completed and
whenever it is necessary to transport the chainsaw.
Chain brake
In case of kickback, the chain brake will be activated. The chain brake
is pushed forwards and this makes the engine of the chainsaw stop in
0,15 s (Fig. 6).
Releasing the chain brake
(Fig. 6)
To be able to use the chainsaw again, you should release the chain
brake. First stop the chainsaw. Then place the chain brake in vertical
position (Fig. 6). The chain brake is now working.
Sharpening of the chain
You could have your chain quickly and correctly sharpened by your
authorized service dealer, who can also provide you with a chain
sharpener to allow you to sharpen the chain. Please, follow up the
corresponding instructions.
