Two separate actions are required to turn on the device. The device is turned on when
the operator presses the safety interlock button (2) with one hand and presses the
activating lever (1) with the other. When the engine starts, you can start working by
pushing the device forward. To turn off the device, stop it in place and release the
activating lever.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
•
Be particularly careful when changing direction on slopes.
•
Avoid working on steep slopes.
•
Take special care when reversing or pulling the device towards you.
•
Always be sure to stand on firm ground, especially on the slopes.
•
Keep walking pace while using the device, never run.
•
Stop the cutting unit and set the working depth to position 4 when moving the
machine on a surface other than grass or transporting it to/from the place of
use.
•
Do not transport the device with the power supply connected.
•
Keep the power and extension cord away from the cutting unit.
•
Do not bring your hands or feet near the rotating cutting unit. Always stay away
from the outlet.
•
Do not tilt the device when the engine starts, except when the device has to be
tilted in order to start the engine. In this case, do not tilt it more than absolutely
necessary and only lift the part that is away from the operator.
•
Never use the device with damaged or removed safety features such as a safety
lock or basket.
•
Turn the device off and unplug it from the power outlet. Make sure that all
moving parts have come to a complete stop, whenever you:
o
walk away from the device;
o
remove blockages;
o
empty the basket;
o
inspect the device;
o
cleaning and maintenance;
o
bumped into a foreign object. Check the device for damage and make any
repairs before switching it on again,
o
find the device vibrating in an unusual way. Check for damage and make any
repairs before you turn on the unit again, before
o
replace or repair parts,
o
fix loose parts.
9. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Before carrying out any repair or maintenance work at the
device, make sure that the cutting unit does not rotate and that the power
supply is disconnected.
