8. Residual risks
Despite being used properly, certain residual risk factors
cannot be completely ruled out. The following risks associated
with the design and construction of the machine may apply:
– Contact with the part of the spool and line that is not
covered.
– Moving the grass trimmer close to other persons or
animals, or reaching close to the rotating spool and line
(cut injury).
– Breaking of the spool and parts, due to hitting the spool
on the ground too hard, during line feeding.
(Catapulting hazard).
– Breaks of the cutting line (Catapulting hazard).
– Catapulting of small objects such as stones if hit by the
rotating line or spool.
– Hearing loss in the event of failure to use the required ear
protection.
– Inhaling of fumes from exhaust gasses, fuels and
lubricants that are toxic and harmful to health.
(Danger of poisoning).

Set up
Before starting the equipment
Check that all moving parts move smoothly before you start using the equipment.
Check that all screws are securely fastened and also check all the safety devices.
1. Fitting the additional handle (Fig. 3a-3c)
Slacken the nut on the fastening screw on the handle (Fig. 3a/Item 17). Remove the nut and
the fastening screw (Fig. 3a/Item 17) from the handle and clip the additional handle over the
long handle (2). Then screw the handle to the long handle. Relocate the screw into the handle
and fit and tighten the locking nut with the supplied 8/10 mm open ended spanner.
