Starting a cold engine
Throttle bodies
rope starter
primer
1. Move the throttle lever to the idle position.
2. Slowly press the primer light bulb six times.
3.
Set the start lever to the "Start" position
4.
Firmly pull the starter handle, controlled and evenly 6 times (at temperatures
above 32C° no more than 3 times!). If the engine starts before the starter handle
has been pulled 5 times, please let the engine run for 5 seconds. Then squeeze the
throttle fully to deactivate the starting system (the starter handle returns to the
"run" position). Steps 5 and 6 are not necessary
5. Pull firmly on the starter handle, pressing the throttle lever together until the
engine starts and runs.
Starting a warm engine
1. Press and hold down the throttle lever.
2. Pull firmly on the starter handle, pressing the throttle lever together until the
engine starts and runs
Note:
Normally the warm start can be carried out approx. 5 - 10 minutes after
switching off the device. After a standstill period of more than 10 minutes, start the
unit according to the cold start procedure described or follow the start instructions
attached to the unit.
Starting a flooded engine
Engines can be started by moving the start lever to the RUN position and pressing the
throttle fully. Pull the starter lever repeatedly while pressing the throttle lever until the
engine starts and runs. This may require the starter handle to be pulled several times,
depending on how much the unit is flooded. If the unit still will not start, refer to the
troubleshooting table.
Storage
Attention:
: At the end of the season or if you do not need your device for more
than 30 days, make sure to prepare it for storage.
• Allow the engine to cool down and secure the appliance before storing or
transporting.
• Store the unit and fuel in a well-ventilated place, safe from sparks and open fire
caused by equipment such as water heaters, electric motors, switches, stoves, etc.
• Store the unit with all safety devices in place. Place the unit in such a way that
nobody can accidentally injure themselves on sharp parts of the unit.
• Keep the appliance and fuel out of the reach of children.
Outer surface
• Clean your device carefully before storing it for a long period of time. Store the
unit in a clean, dry place.
• The metal outer surfaces should be lightly oiled.
Internal Motor
•
Remove the spark plugs and pour a teaspoon of oil for (air-cooled) two-stroke
engines into the spark plug hole. Pull the starter cord slowly eight to ten times to
distribute the oil.
• Replace the spark plug with a plug of the appropriate type and heat rating.
• Clean the air filter.
• Check the entire unit for loose screws, nuts and bolts.
• Replace any damaged, cracked or worn parts.
• Always start the new season with fresh fuel in the right petrol/oil ratio.
Miscellaneous:
• Do not store fuel for the next season.
• Replace your fuel canister as soon as it begins to rust.
Maintenance
• All maintenance work not listed in this manual should be carried out by a qualified
technician.
• The spark plug connector must be removed before servicing the unit. This is not
necessary for carburetor settings.
• Use only recommended replacement parts. Use of other replacement parts may
void your warranty and damage your unit.
• Empty the fuel tank when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
Consume the remaining fuel in the carburetor by starting and running the engine
