8 Electrical installation
DANGER
Risk of electric shock
Only approved electricians are permitted to carry out electrical installation
work on site.
º
For electrical installations on site observe the VDE regulations (Ger-
man Electrical Engineers Association) and the requirements of the
local electricity supplier.
º
Disconnect all components from the mains before carrying out any
work on the installation or the control unit.
DANGER
Risk of damaging the motor beyond repair
The motor requires a 24 V DC connection (see type label). Other voltages
will damage it beyond repair.
º
Connect the motor accordingly.
º
Do not lay the motor connection cable together with a mains cable.
º
Never connect 24 V DC drives to a 230 V mains power supply.
Danger
of life
!
º
Low-voltage lines and power lines must be laid separately.
A two-core (24 V) connecting cable is required to connect the motor (see „Technical data“).
º
Follow the electrical connection diagram in section „14 Connection diagram“ on page 35.
º
For cable lengths, cable types and cable cross-sections observe the details given in the
connection diagram and under “Technical data”.
º
Ensure that the cables are protected against shearing, kinking or twisting. If necessary
use cable ducts.
º
Verify the correct terminal assignment, the permissible drive voltage (see type label)
and the minimum and maximum ratings (see Technical data). Follow all assembly and
installation instructions carefully.
The drive must be supplied with a 24 V DC (direct current) voltage.
To convert the mains voltage 230 V ~, 50 Hz or other) into 24 V DC, you need to use a power
supply unit whose technical data corresponds to the information on the drive‘s type label. The
power supply unit must meet the requirements of security class II.
ordered from us via your responsible distribution company. The drawing contains the
relevant dimensions for the different installation methods and profile systems.
º
All dimensions of the particular installation are the responsibility of the installer; adjust-
ments may be necessary.
º
Before working on the profiles, take note of the following:
– Minimum sash width
– Minimum sash height
– Maximum sash weight
– Possible wind and snow loads
–
Space required on the profile according to the assembly method.
º
Check the required minimum distances.
º
Carry out a function test. Use the appropriate GU testing and setting apparatus (see
