7.4.8.5 Cabling the 8x 2.5-inch HDD extension box

Connect SAS and power cables to the 8x 3.5-inch HDD SAS backplane as
described in section
"24x 2.5-inch HDD SAS backplane cabling" on
page 200 .
7.4.8.6 Installing HDD modules into the 8x 2.5-inch HDD extension box
Ê
Close the front cover and reinstall the ID card as described in section
"Closing the server" on page 104 .
Ê
Install HDD modules or HDD dummy modules into the additional HDD slots
as described in sections
"Installing a 2.5-inch HDD / SSD module" on
page 208 and "Installing a 2.5-inch HDD / SSD dummy module" on
page 214 .

inch HDD / SSD configurations" on page 191 .
7.4.8.7 Concluding steps
Perform the following procedures to complete the task:

Reinstall the system fan holder as described in section "Installing the system
fan holder" on page 379 .
Ê
Reinstall the air duct as described in section "Installing the system air duct"
on page 94 .
Ê
Close the side / top cover as described in section "Mounting the top cover"
on page 107 (rack server) or "Mounting the side cover" on page 114 (tower
server).
Ê
When working on a rack-mounted server, secure it in the rack as described
in section
"Sliding the server into the rack" on page 124 .
If the server has been completely removed from the rack for maintenance
purposes, reinstall and secure it in the rack as described in section
"Mounting the server in the rack" on page 122 .

Reconnect the AC power cords to the power supply units and secure them
with PSU cable brackets as described in section
"Connecting the server to
the mains" on page 125 .
