"1" : Prohibits the failure prediction function. The Reporting Method and TEST

specification are disregarded.

c. PERF (performance)

This bit permits/prohibits performance drops due to the failure prediction function.

"0" : Permits a drop in performance due to the failure prediction function.

"1" : Prohibits a drop in performance due to the failure prediction function. Due to

limitations in failure prediction notification, depending on the drive, a number of, or
all of the failure prediction functions may be prohibited.

The drive disregards the value specified in this bit. If failure prediction is permitted,
collection and analysis of data on all the attributes supported by the drive are performed
regardless of the specification in this bit.

d. TEST (test)

"0" : Specifies that testing of the failure prediction notification function be stopped.

"1" : When "0" is specified in DEXCPT, after the time specified by the Interval Timer, a

failure prediction notice condition is generated and the failure prediction is notified.
The notification method and number of notices are in accordance with the Reporting
Method and Report Count. At this time, the sense key/sense code notifies
0x5D/0xFF.

This bit cannot be saved and the saved value is always "0". The current value is initialized
to "0" after the power is turned on and after LIP (y, x) or Target Reset is received.

e. Reporting Method

This field specifies the notification method when a failure prediction notification condition
is detected.
