Fan the sheets before setting a
stack of documents on the ADF
paper chute.
NOTICES
• Remove paper clips and staples. Flatten the staple holes.
Do not use ADF nor Flatbed for scanning documents on which the ink is still wet.
• The following documents may have difficulty being fed with this scanner. To prevent unexpected
problems, conducting preliminary feed testing using the same type of paper is recommended. If the
feed testing is not successful, use Flatbed for the scanning.
- Paper of uneven thickness (for example, envelopes).
- Paper with large rumples or curls.
- Paper with folds or tears.
- Tracing paper.
- Coated paper.
- Carbon paper.
- Photographic paper.
- Paper with perforations on the side.
- Non-rectangular paper.
- Very thin paper.
• Use Flatbed always for the following documents.
- Paper with clips or staples.
- Paper smaller than A8 (portrait) size or wider than A3 size.
- Materials other than paper (for example, clothes, sheet metal, or OHP film).
