Filling with
coolant
Note!
Before each time the cooling unit is commissioned, check the coolant
level and the purity of the coolant.
The cooling unit is delivered „dry“, i.e. with no coolant. The coolant comes with the
cooling unit, packaged separately. Before commissioning, fill the cooling unit with
coolant.
Note!
Use only Original Fronius coolant for filling the cooling unit. We do not
recommend other anti-freeze agents, due to their electrical conductivity and
insufficient compatibility.
The cooling unit must be vented
-
after it is first filled
-
if no coolant is circulating, even though the coolant pump is running
Procedure:
1.
Move mains switch to „I“ position - the coolant pump begins to operate
2.
Pull back locking ring on the water flow plug connector (blue) and unplug water flow
hose
3.
Using a wooden or plastic pin, carefully press in and hold the sealing cone in the
centre of the water flow plug connector
4.
Release the sealing cone once coolant begins to escape
5.
Plug the water flow hose in place again
6.
Check the outside water connections for leaks
Important!
Repeat the venting procedure until it is possible to see through the fill nozzle
on the cooling unit that coolant is flowing properly.
Venting the
cooling unit
Note!
If the cooling unit is being
filled with coolant for the first
time, it must be vented after
filling.
Checking coolant
circulation
1.
Move mains switch to „I“ position - the coolant pump begins to operate
2.
Check the coolant return flow until it is clear that the coolant is flowing through
properly. Vent the cooling unit if necessary.
Note!
During welding, check at regular intervals that the coolant is flowing
through properly. You should be able to see through the fill nozzle that coolant is
flowing properly.
Putting the cooling unit into service
The coolant pump must only be operated
in conjunction with Fronius torch coolant.
Do not allow the coolant pump to run dry
(even for a very short time), as this will
destroy the coolant pump. In such cases,
claims for damage will be turned down.
