After placing batteries into correct positions,replace the battery cover. 
 

Low Battery Alert 

The LCD on your radio shows a battery meter in the down left corner 

icon indicates a fully powered unit. 

The Low Battery Alert beep will sound when the battery level drops to Level 1 
If you continue to use the radio at Level 1 the Low Battery Alert beep will sound 
If the battery level falls to Level 0 (flashing empty) the LCD display will turn off 
after 30sec. An error tone will sound if any key is pressed 

Transmitting Range 

The talk range will depend on your surroundings and environment it will be affected by 
obstructions such as hills or buildings. 
Don’t try to use two radio units which are less than 1.5m (5 feet) apart. Otherwise, you may 
experience interference. Talk range depends on the terrain. It will be affected by concrete 
structures, heavy foliage and by operating radios indoors or in vehicles.
