3.8.2 Alert Beeper Setting
The Alert Beeper Setting function (Figure 3-24) is used to Disabled or Enable the disk array
alarm. Select Enabled or Disabled and press <Enter> in the dialog box to turn the alarm on or
off.

3.8.3 Change Password
The password option (Figure 3-25) allows you to set or clear the freeStor Xpand 1500C’s
password protection feature. Once the password has been set, the user can only monitor and
configure the unit by providing the correct password. The password is used to protect the
system from unauthorized entry. The controller will check the password only when entering the
main menu from the initial screen. The unit will automatically go back to the initial screen when it
does not receive a command within twenty seconds.
To set or change the RAID subsystem password, move the cursor to “Raid System Function”,
then select “Change Password” and press <Enter>. Enter the new password in the “Enter New
Password” screen.
To disable password protection, do not enter a password and press <Enter> in both the Enter
New Password and Re-Enter New Password windows. The existing password will be cleared.
No password verification will be performed when entering the main menu from the starting
screen from now on.
