7.2 Network
The network is the main interface of the PQM 1588. In the instrument as delivered, the network
settings are intended to be configured by DHCP
[Section 7.2.1]
. If the instrument can no longer
be accessed, due to faulty configuration or the loss of an IP address stored within it, the fallback
network settings
[Section 7.2.2]
can resolve the situation.
7.2.1 User network settings
Network settings by DHCP
In this case the following procedure can be used to determine the IP address:
· IP via DNS
The name of the PQM 1588 comprises PQM-SN followed by its 6-digit serial number,
e.g. pqmsn000004
If the DHCP server can forward the host name to the associated DNS Server (DHCP option 12),
the PQM will become accessible under this name.
· MAC lookup via DHCP server
The IP address can be determined from the MAC address (adhesive label on the PQM 1588)
with the help of the administrator of the DHCP server.
Static network settings
If DHCP is deactivated, the network settings stored in the instrument will be used. These can be
changed as described in
[Section 7.3.1]
. The factory default settings are as follows:
IP address:
192.168.0.60
Netmask:
255.255.255.0
Gateway:
192.168.0.1
Time server:
