5.3 System Maintenance
5.3.1 Unitary Maintenance Operation
5.3.1.1 Routine inspection
a) Check the wiring /circuit breaker/connector
All the wiring, cable, connector should no sign of loose, burnt, or bad contact, and the
diameter of the wire should match the current it carries.
b) Check the Output voltage
The output voltage is 230V+/-1%, and the output is stable either in voltage or frequency, the
waveform is clean, no noise, less distortion (THDv%<2 @ linear load).
c) Check the Battery status
Visual inspection the battery, the battery should be placed in good ventilation environment.
Clean, cool environment help lengthen battery lifetime, the interconnection between
batteries should be securely lock; and case of each piece of battery should no sign of
leakage of acid or deformation.
Voltage of each piece of battery should be checked; if there is any piece has obvious
voltage Difference (>2V) from the rest. Recommend changing this piece of battery, because
this piece of battery will very likely accelerate aged and fail soon.
Execute out a Battery test, to check the battery is not aged and in good condition.
5.3.1.2 In-depth inspection
Normally, if UPS works in an environment of high dust/humidity/temperature, In-depth
inspection may needed for every one /two years, In-depth inspection need to open the cover
of the UPS, all the power supply to the UPS should be cut off before open the cover of the
UPS and the DC-CAP should be discharge before further inspection. Points to inspect
include:
a) Dust/Corrosion
Check if any dust accumulates on the PCB board. Vacuum dust collector is recommend to
