OPERATIONS
4.1
Operation
Ensure that the SBE is operated only
by personnel trained for this work
and familiar with the risks involved in
operating the equipment.
Read these instructions carefully before
operating the SBE.
WARNING
Danger of pinching/crushing

Moving parts pose a hazard during
assembly, set-up and conversion work
as well as during operation.
» NEVER reach between moving
components.

Operational Safety
1. The Checklist to verify correct installation have been
fully processed and completed. There are no points
on the list that would have to be answered with
NOK.
2. Operate the SBE smoothly and carefully.
3. Do not touch the SBE while in operation.
4. It is recommended to have the SBE operated by the
driller.
5. No foreign objects obstruct the view between
the operating personell at the borehole and the
operator in the drilling cabine.
6. Do Not operate the VES-SBE without Bushings.
4.2
Pick up a pipe
The Solid Body Elevator (SBE) can only be used with pipes
which have a removeable tool joint/lifting plug.
To pick up a pipe, proceed as follows:
1. Disassemble the tool joint/lifting plug of the pipe.
2. Place the SBE over the disassembled pipe.
3. Assemble the tool joint (according to the guideline of
the pipe/lifting plug manufacture).
4. SBE is now ready for operation.
