Proper installation is the most important step 

in  ensuring  safe  and  continuous  operation 

of the fireplace. Although grounding may not 

be required by code in your area, it must be 

electrically grounded in accordance with lo-

cal codes or, in the absence of local codes, 

with the 

National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 

70-1990

.

This firebox is intended for installation in ac-

cordance with the 

National Fire Protection As-

sociation Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, 

Vent

and  Solid-Fuel  Burning  Fireplaces

NFPA  211

,  and  in  accordance  with  codes 

such as the 

BOCA Basic/National Code

, the 

Standard Mechanical Code

, and the 

Uniform 

Building Code

.

less the manufacturer's instruc-

tions with the insert specifically 

state this firebox has been tested 

for use with the insert.

This firebox is not intended to be 

used as a substitute for a furnace 

to heat an entire home. Use for 

supplemental heat only.

IMPORTANT: Check local codes 

before installing this firebox.

This is a wood burning firebox intended and 

approved for installation in either residential 

homes or buildings of standard construction. 

This  firebox  system  requires  the  utilization 

of a FMI PRODUCTS, LLC 8" double wall, 

snap-lock flue pipe system.
Glass doors are optional with this firebox and 

come in different styles. For more information 

see 

Glass Doors

, page 13).

The  model’s  serial  number  and  any  other 

specific rating information may be found on 

the  rating  plate  located  inside  the  firebox 

opening.
Before beginning the installation of the firebox, 

read these instructions through completely.
•  This FMI PRODUCTS, LLC firebox and 

its approved components are safe when 

installed  according  to  this  installation 

manual and operated as recommended 

by FMI PRODUCTS, LLC. Use only FMI 

PRODUCTS, LLC approved components, 

which have been designed and tested for 

the  fireplace  system.  Failure  to  do  this 

may cause a fire hazard.

•  The FMI PRODUCTS, LLC warranty will 

be voided by and FMI PRODUCTS, LLC 

disclaims any responsibility for the follow-

ing actions.
