Limitation: The surface can’t be too thin or be a reflective surface.

Thanks to its multiple vision and distance sensors, ELIOS 2 is able to fix its distance with regard to a surface.
The distance is set from the Front distance sensor. Hence, the distance always represents the horizontal
distance between the front of the aircraft and the surface independently from the camera orientation.

Flight data logging and video recording

Data logging

LOG SD CARD

As soon as the battery is plugged in, ELIOS 2 is turned on it starts to record data onto the LOG SD card.

The LOG files can be read with the Flyability Inspector software in order to access the Thermal Camera

footage and flight parameters such as altitude, heading, and POIs. The drone can not fly without a LOG

SD card.

AV SD CARD

The Avionics LOG files contain the flight information such as sensor values, internal aircraft states, and

even controller inputs from the pilot. It is the black box of the drone. This data can be downloaded and

sent to Flyability engineers to analyze malfunctions should they occur, but they are not readable for

the end user. Old files are automatically overwritten after 20 flights. The drone can not fly without an

AV SD card.

Video recording

The video recording starts as soon as Elios is armed and stops when Elios is disarmed, provided that the CAM
SD card is inserted with enough free space. The video as well as still images are saved onto the CAM SD card.

Tablet Backup Recording

The video stream received by the tablet can be saved to create a low-quality backup of the flight video as well
as some telemetry data, preventing a complete loss of data in case of an accident.

COCKPIT BACKUP RECORDER

This feature can be turned on in the settings menu of the Cockpit App. It records a video file with the

received video stream and creates a subtitle file (.srt) with the telemetry data.

A LOSS OF POWER (DUE TO A CRASH OR BATTERY DISCONNECTION)

WHILE ELIOS IS FLYING MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF THE VIDEO FILE BEING

RECORDED ON THE CAMERA SD CARD.
