The 990-GM/V can be set up to be compatible with one of the following
VDSLx Service Types and to emulate either the RT (CPE) or the CO
(DSLAM):
•
ITU G.993.1 (VDSL1)
•
ITU G.993.1”+” (“VDSL1.5”)
•
ITU G.993.2 (VDSL2)
•
Emulation Mode: RT (or CO)
In some ADSLx test cases, you may need to enable only the actual ADSLx
modem Service Type(s) supported by the connected DSLAM. In other cases, it
may be necessary to enable
all ADSLx Service Types to determine the actual
highest capacity of the line and connected DSLAM. All ADSLx Service Types
are enabled in the default condition.
To set up parameters for the DSL Modem Test, do the following:
1. From the 990
Main
menu, select the
DSL Modem Test
, then press the
Setups
softkey.
2. Highlight the desired ADSLx or VDSLx Service Type to change, select
Y
to enable or
N
to disable, and then press
L
.
3. If using a GM/V to run a VDSLx test, select the desired Device Emulation
mode: RT (customer modem emulation mode, default) or CO (DSLAM
emulation mode). Then, press
L
.
4. Select an ADSLx service type (if using GM2) or a VDSLx service type (if
using GM/V).
Note
You can select any combination of ADSLx Service Types when using
the GM/2 or one of three VDSLx Service Types when using the GM/V,
but not a combination of the two.
