It is also possible to create a Virtual COM port that can be used by the FLIR Camera Controller GUI.
This is the preferred method because you will have full access to all camera controls. With the Camera
Link card inserted and FLIR Camera Controller closed, run “FrameLink Express Virtual COM port”,
which installs in the Program Files directory along with the FrameLink Express Software. Select a COM
Port that is currently unused. This can be verified in the Device Manager under Ports. Click “Create Port”
and this virtual COM Port will remain accessible until it is deleted or this emulator is closed.

You can now open the FLIR Camera Controller GUI to communicate with the camera as usual. Be
sure to select the correct COM Port and use 57600 baud.
