to display value.
2. Press

to return to normal display.
The analyzer will operate as normal, with data output to
the chart recorder. In addition to the sample reading,
there will be a recorder trace for each baseline and
fullscale calibration. In normal operation a baseline cali-
bration is performed once every 12 hours and a base-
line and fullscale calibration performed once every 48
hours.
To indicate the beginning and end of a calibration
sequence, the recorder makes a quick trace down to
zero and up to fullscale. This is called a calibration mark-
er. The calibration values and adjustments (if any) are
recorded, then another calibration marker is made to
indicate completion of the calibration sequence. After
calibration the recorder trace returns to charting the
sample values.
See Figure 9-1
.
9.1.2 MULTI-STREAM ANALYSIS
A recorder stream identification BLIP (SIB) is produced
prior to the output signal for that particular stream. This
allows quick identification of individual stream readings
on the recorder.
Calibration markers are recorded before and after cali-
bration sequences as usual.
Below is an example of a recorder trace for a six sample
stream analysis:
Configuration of the stream identification blips (SIB) are
as shown in the following table:

9.2 ALARMS
Alarm values may be programmed to activate alarms or
controllers when the sample is outside of the specified
concentration range. When performing multi-stream
analysis, a different high alarm value and a low alarm
value may be programmed for each sample stream.
The contacts for the alarm outputs are located at the
input/output panel on the side of the analyzer.
