16. Configuring and managing S.CON1M/MA
Operating the S.CON1M/MA
•
Turn the device on.
•
Make sure that the POWER LED is ON.
•
Slide the RESET switch (S6) down and back to up position.
•
Concentrate on the ‘Management’ section on the front panel of the
converter. Wait for a few seconds until the ‘Ready’ LED is blinking.
This indicates that the management module is installed and
integrated into the converter. When the LED Ready is steady lit, this
implies that the SNMP management module is ready and operative
•
Proceed to the next procedure for configuring the S.CON1M/MA
.
Configuring the S.CON1M/MA
1. Have available a PC equipped with a terminal emulation program (any ASCII
terminal).
2. Use the supplied control cable to interconnect the converter to the PC:
connect the miniDIN (PS/2) end of the cable to the RS232 port on the
converter and the other end to an available DB9 (male) connector on the
PC.
3. configure the terminal emulation program as follows:
•
Baud rate: 9600
•
Parity: none
•
Start bits: 1
•
Stop bits: 1
•
Flow control: none
4. Start the terminal emulation then reset the S.CON1M/MA.
5. After a few seconds you will get the
start up screen
(figure 1).

: the parameters appearing in the figures are just examples. Set them to
the values you need.
