Lock the PRV top
chamber by closing the
valve to the top
chamber, if possible.
If your PRV has taps on
the pipe rail, shut both
the input and output
path of the pilot valve
together (at the same
time).
This will ensure that
the volume of water
contained in the pilot
valve will remains
constant; its
diaphragm is locked in
position.
Note: The upper chamber of
the PRV valve is now
locked in position.
The output pressure is
not regulated, and any
variations in inlet pressure
will affect the output
pressure
