Work
as
closely
as
possible
to
the
center
of
the
work
zone.
Lateral
movement
away
from
the
center
will
increase
swing
fall.
If
it
is
necessary
to
move
away
from
the
work
zone
center,
move
the
anchor
as
required.
See

Install
the
Anchor:
Ensure
the
chosen
location
will
meet
the
strength
requirements
detailed
in
Section
3
of
this
manual.
Ensure
the
chosen
location
will
minimize
free
fall
and
swing
fall
hazards
detailed
in
paragraphs
4.1
and
4.2.
The
anchor
is
designed
to
be
attached
to
a
horizontal
pipe
or
structural
member
of
a
similar
shape.
Do
not
attach
the
anchor
in
a
manner
that
will
allow
the
anchor
to
slide
downward
when
loaded,
or
off
the
end
of
a
structure.
Ensure
the
anchor
will
be
loaded
on
its
vertical
axis
if
a
fall
event
occurs,
as
shown
in
Figure
3.
Ensure
the
chosen
structure
is
level,
of
the
proper
shape,
rounded
without
edges,
and
that
load
direction
and
minimum
clearance
distance
is
maintained.
See
Table

Follow
the
steps
outlined
in

Ensure
the
hooks
engage
the
loops.
Do
not
attach
the
anchor
below
the
level
of
the
FBH
dorsal

incorrect
installations
to
avoid.
NOTE:
Approved
fall
protection
may
be
required
during
installation
of
all
anchorage
units
discussed
in
this
manual.
4.4.
Connect
a
PFAS
to
the
Anchor:
Inspect
the
anchor
before
each
use
according
to
the
inspection
procedure
detailed
in
Section
7
of
this
manual.
Connect
to
the
anchor
using
an
approved
PFAS
or
restraint
system.
Consult
the
fall
protection
equipment
manufacturer's
user
instructions
for
complete
details.
NOTE:
The
anchor
discussed
in
this
manual
is
for
overhead
use,
attached
to
a
horizontal
member
only,
in
personal
fall
arrest
applications.
Do
not
place
the
anchor
below
the
user's
FBH
dorsal
D
‐
ring.
The
anchor
may
be
used
as
restraint
anchor
to
prevent
the
user
from
reaching
a
fall
hazard.
DO
NOT
work
above
the
anchorage.
DO
NOT
use
the
anchor
for
fall
arrest
while
it
is
attached
to
a
vertical
member.
The
anchor
may
be
attached
to
a
vertical
member
for
fall
restraint
only.
4.5
After
a
Fall:
Any
equipment
subjected
to
fall
arrest
forces
or
exhibiting
damage
consistent
with
the
effect
of
a
fall
event
must
be
removed
from
service
immediately.

parts.
If
the
anchor
has
been
subjected
to
