12.0 INSTRUCTIONS WITH REGARD TO EMC
● Medical electrical devices are subject to special precautions with regard to EMC and must be installed in accordance with the
EMC instructions specified below.
● Portable and mobile HF communication equipment can influence medical electrical devices.
● The use of accessories, transducers or cables other than those specified can lead to increased emission or a reduced
electromagnetic immunity of the device or system.
12.3 GUIDELINES AND MANUFACTURER'S DECLARATION - ELECTROMAGNETIC EMISSIONS
TRACHEOFIRST
®
COMPACT is intended for operation in an environment as that specified below. The customer or user of the
TRACHEOFIRST
®
COMPACT device should ensure that the device is operated in such an environment.

HF emissions as per CISPR 11
Group 1
TRACHEOFIRST
®
COMPACT uses HF energy exclusively
for its internal function. Therefore, its HF emission is very low
and it is unlikely that neighbouring electronic equipment will be
disrupted.
HF emissions as per CISPR 11
Class B
TRACHEOFIRST
®
COMPACT is suitable for use in all facilities,
including facilities in living quarters and facilities which are
directly connected to a public power supply that also supplies
buildings used for residential purposes
Emission of harmonics as per
IEC 61000-3-2
Not applicable
Emission of voltage fluctuations/
flicker as per IEC 61000-3-3
Not applicable
12.4 RECOMMENDED SAFETY DISTANCES BETWEEN PORTABLE AND MOBILE HF
TELECOMMUNICATION DEVICES AND TRACHEOFIRST

COMPACT
TRACHEOFIRST
®
COMPACT is intended for operation in an electromagnetic environment with controlled HF disturbances.
The customer or the user of the TRACHEOFIRST
®
COMPACT can help avoid electromagnetic interference by keeping the
minimum distance between portable and mobile HF telecommunication devices (transmitters) and the
TRACHEOFIRST
®
COMPACT device – depending on the output power of the communication device as specified below.

For transmitters of which the maximum nominal power is not indicated in the table above, the recommended safety distance
d in metres (m) can be determined using the equation that belongs to the respective column, P being the maximum nominal
power of the transmitter in watt (W) as specified by the manufacturer.
NOTE 1 At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the higher frequency range applies.
NOTE 2 These guidelines may not be applicable in all cases. The propagation of electromagnetic values is influenced
by absorptions and reflections of buildings, objects and people.
