PERIPHERAL COMMUNICATIONS
7.3 RECEIVE AND SEND MACHINE PARAMETERS
Once the communications parameters have been defined, follow the steps described
below in order to send or receive the machine parameters from or to a computer or
peripheral device:
*
Press the
key and select the “COMMUNICATIONS” option.
*
Select the “RECEIVE AND SEND PARAMETERS” option.
*
Prepare the receptor unit before selecting the type of transmission.
*
Press the desired softkey RECEIVE or SEND.
RECEIVE to receive machine parameters from a computer or peripheral device
into the DRO and SEND to send them out to a computer or peripheral from the
DRO.
The DRO will show the text corresponding to the requested transmission in the
lower left-hand side of the screen.
*
Once the transmission is completed, other transmissions can be performed by
pressing RECEIVE or SEND accordingly.
Press EXIT to quit the transmission mode and the DRO will display the options
corresponding to “COMMUNICATIONS”.
It is not necessary to transmit those parameters which have no meaning. For example:
If it is indicated that the display of the position of an axis matches its actual reading
(P101 = NO), it is not necessary to transmit parameters P102 and P103 indicative of
the 1st and 2nd operands of the arithmetic operation.
The parameters will be transmitted sequentially in ascending order and separated by an
end-of-line character. The format used for each one of them will be:
General parameters Parameter number - Value - End-of-line character.
At least one blank space must be used as field separator.
The parameter number will be the letter “P” followed by 3 digits. Example: P001
The parameter value will be indicated by a number. This number will indicate
which of the shown values has been selected. The options will be counted from
left to right and by rows. The number 1 corresponds to the first option.
