THE HINGED JOINT OF THE OUTRIGGERS MUST
ALWAYS BE LOCKED IN THE STANDARD POSITION
OR A MORE STRETCHED POSITION.
IF THE HINGED JOINT OF ALL OUTRIGGERS
ARE NOT LOCKED PROPERLY, THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY OR DEATH.
THE HINGED JOINT OF EACH OUTRIGGER MUST
BE TIGHTENED FIRMLY AND SECURED
PROPERLY BEFORE THE PLATFORM BASE IS
LIFTED OFF THE GROUND.
SETTING UP THE PLATFORM ON SOFT GROUND CAN
MAKE PLATFORM LOOSE THE SUPPORT BY THE
OUTRIGGERS SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
ONLY USE THE PLATFORM ON HARD FLAT GROUND.
LOAD APPLIED TO THE GROUND IS GIVEN IN THE
TECHNICAL DATA.
WHEN LOWERING THE OUTRIGGERS MAKE SURE
THAT THERE IS NO INTERFERENCE WITH THE REAR
AXLES. DO NOT LOWER THE OUTRIGGERS WHEN
THEY ARE LOCKED IN THE STOWED POSITION
(NARROW POSITION). THIS IS NOT A WORKING
POSITION AND CAN CAUSE INTERFERENCE WITH
PLATFORM BASE (I.E. REAR AXLES) RESULTING IN
STRUCTURAL DAMAGE.
5.
Lower the outrigger by the outrigger control valves. First all
the outriggers should be brought to light contact with the
ground one by one and then controlled two at a time to
give equal pressure on each leg.
WHEN POSITIONING THE OUTRIGGERS ON THE
GROUND IT IS IMPORTANT TO ENSURE THAT ALL
HANDS, FEET AND ANY OTHER BODY PARTS ARE KEPT
CLEAR OF THE OUTRIGGERS, FOOTPLATE AND ANY
OTHER MOVING PARTS. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN
RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH.
When setting up the outriggers, the platform must be on hard
flat ground. Make sure that the platform is in horizontal level by
checking the level sight gauge located on the base of the
platform chassis.
SETTING UP THE PLATFORM OUT OF HORIZONTAL
LEVEL OF THE GROUND CAN GIVE INSTABILITY
CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH.
THE PLATFORM MUST BE SET UP WITH CHASSIS
IN A HORIZONTAL LEVEL.
The outreach of the platform depends on how the outriggers are
placed. Wider outrigger span and lower basket load means
longer outreach.
In standard position the platform must be raised approx. 1 ft./30
cm of the ground. In this position the working height is approx.
61 ft.125 m (see outreach diagram).
In order to achieve the additional working height of 85 ft.126 m
the platform must be raised approx. 3.5 ft./1 m off the ground
(see outreach diagram). In this position the horizontal outreach
will be slightly reduced.
When the outriggers are pressed down on the ground the (4) red
lights must be turned off. If not, do not operate the platform.
WHEN THE PLATFORM IS IN THE STOWED POSITION
OR THE OUTRIGGERS DO NOT HAVE A LOAD ON
THEM, THE RED INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE
OUTRIGGERS SHOULD BE ON. IF THEY ARE NOT ON,
THE SAFETY SYSTEM HAS MALFUNCTIONED. DO NOT
USE THE PLATFORM IF THE RED LIGHTS ARE OUT
UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. FAILURE IN THE
SAFETY SYSTEM CAN RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH.
CALL AN AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE IMMEDIATELY.
6.
Lift the main boom up to horizontal level and rotate the
swing jib to approximately 4 feet/1.2m above the ground
by using the ground controls on the turret.
