2.9 BASKET-LOCK.
If the basket suddenly starts to turn over, the basket automatically
will be locked, and the main boom can not be activated.
The platform can now be brought to the ground.
WHEN OPERATION THE PLATFORM FROM THE GROUND,
BY ENGAGING ON THE HYDRAULIC VALVES DIRECTLY,
THE SAFETY SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTIONING. “BOOM IN”
AND “MAIN BOOM UP” ARE THE ONLY FUNCTIONS TO
BE USED UNTIL THE BOOM IS FULLY RETRACTED.
FAILURE TO DO SO CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.
CALL AN AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE IMMEDIATELY.

OPERATING INSTRUCTION
3.1 SETTING UP THE PLATFORM.
1.
Engage the main key. The red light on all (4) outriggers and
on the red “stability” indicator light, on the platform control
box must be on, when the platform is in the stowed
position. Make sure always to check the lights while the
platform is in the stowed position.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE PLATFORM IF THE RED
LIGHTS ON THE OUTRIGGERS ARE NOT ON WHEN THE
OUTRIGGERS ARE IN THE STOWED POSITION. IF THE
RED LIGHTS ARE OUT WHEN THE OUTRIGGERS ARE
LIFTED OFF THE GROUND, IT IS AN INDICATION THAT
THE SAFETY SYSTEM – “CUT-OUT” SYSTEM, IS NOT
WORKING PROPERLY. FAILURE IN THE SAFETY
SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.
CALL AN AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE IMMEDIATELY.
2.
Always remember to keep the platform plugged in at all times.
3.
Place the outriggers in the best possible horizontal
position. Standard position is 450 to the chassis and
always lock with the locking pin to the chassis frame.
WHEN OPERATING THE SPIDER IN RAISED POSITION
(OUTRIGGERS FULLY EXTENDED) THE OUTRIGGERS
MUST BE PLACED IN STANDARD POSITION, SEE FIG.
FAILURE TO DO SO CAN COURSE INJURY OR DEATH.
IF THE BASE OF THE OUTRIGGER IS NOT LOCKED TO
THE FRAME OF THE PLATFORM, OUTRIGGERS CAN
TURN, RESULTING IN INSTABILITY CAUSING INJURY
OR DEATH. LOCKING PIN FOR SECURING THE BASE OF
THE OUTRIGGER TO THE FRAME OF THE PLATFORM,
MUST ALWAYS BE IN POSITION BEFORE ATTEMPTING
TO LIFT THE PLATFORM OFF THE GROUND.
Loosen the hinged joint so that the teethes are fully apart, (notice
the small hinged safety handle, which prevents the hinged joint
from loosening when tightened), and check that the lower part
of the outrigger hangs freely.
Lower the outrigger by the outrigger control on the valves, until
the outrigger pad! outrigger wheel is just above the ground.
Mount the footplates on the outrigger, and make sure that all
footplates are locked properly.
IF THE FOOTPLATES ARE NOT MOUNTED AND
SECURED PROPERLY ON THE OUTRIGGERS, THE
PLATFORM IS NOT SECURED AGAINST MOVING ON
THE OUTRIGGERS WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY OR
DEATH. FOOTPLATES MUST ALWAYS BE MOUNTED ON
THE OUTRIGGER AND SECURED BEFORE ATTEMPTING
TO LIFT THE PLATFORM OFF THE GROUND.
Open/turn the lower part of each outrigger, at least to the
standard position, and tighten the hinged joint fully by the
handwheel. Turn the small safety handle into position between
the two plates of each of the upper and lower part of the
outrigger, to secure the hinged joint against loosening/opening.
IF THE HINGED JOINT OF THE OUTRIGGER IS LOCKED
IN THE TRANSPORTPOSITION AND NOT IN THE
STANDARDPOSITION OR A MORE STRETCHED
POSITION, THE STABILITYSYSTEM CANNOT WORK,
WHICH CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
