PLEASE NOTE: Connect these grilles to the unit using
the supplied aluminium pipe. Also use the supplied hose
clips. Ensure there is no leakage in the false chimney
breast!
3.3
Flue gas discharge materials requirements
3.3.1
Concentric supply/discharge material
•
Pipe diameter 300/200mm
•
The outside of the concentric discharge material can heat up
to +/-150°C. Ensure insulation and protection in case of
passage through flammable walls or ceiling construction and
maintain sufficient distance.
•
In case of extended discharge pipe lengths, the concentric
discharge material must be secured, making sure the weight
of the material is not resting on the fire.
•
Properly support horizontal lengths.
3.3.2
Discharge
To ensure correct installation, Faber’s range of products includes a
suitable chimney unit including a fan silencer. This unit can be
applied to both flat and inclined roof tops. The chimney unit comes
with the roof top duct (this duct depends on the roof top angle,
which should be specified when ordering!). The required fan must
be ordered separately!
4 Preparation and installation
instructions
Take the installation requirements into account (see Chapter 3).
4.1
Unpacking the unit
>
Please note: The weight of the fireplace is 290 kilograms.
If using a pallet truck, keep in mind that the heaviest part of the fire
is at the front. Make sure to place the pallet truck in such a way that
the bottom of the fire will not get damaged.
1. First remove the wooden upper part of the pallet. (fig. 2.0 A)
2. Leave the mounting rails in place (fig.2.1B) and leave the
control box in its place for as long as possible to reduce the
risk of damage. (fig. 2.1 C)
3. Now, lift and remove the upper part of the packaging and
leave the fire on the pallet (fig. 2.2 C)
4. If required, mount the transportation brackets (fig.2.3) (these
brackets are available separately from Faber)
5. You can use a hand truck to remove the fire from the pallet.
6. Using the transportation brackets, you can safely move the
fireplace to its installation spot.
4.2
Positioning the fireplace
Place the unit in the correct position and determine the position of
the installation box.
>
Please note: Cut the cable ties and make sure to prevent
any damage or leaks when rolling out the cables and air
pressure hoses. The air pressure hoses must still be
attached to the routing pipes of the fire. Make sure to
connect P2 to P2 (red) and P1 to P1 (green)! (see fig1.3
and fig 2.4)
Position all hoses and cables in such a way that they can
be easily maintained from the installation box. Also,
consider the required additional length for pulling out
the control unit. (fig. 1.6) DON’T CONNECT RIGIDLY
1. Now, slide the fire towards the correct position and, if
required, adjust the height using the adjustable feet. (fig.2.4A)
2. Connect the flexible hoses Ø100mm for the supply of
combustion air to the pipe connection (fig. 1.1)
The hoses must extend to beyond the discharge outlet
via the grilles. Use the hose clips!
3. Connect the cable for the flue gas fan (fig. 1.3) and keep in
mind the required additional service length.
4. Position and secure (e.g. on a platform) the installation box.
(fig.1.6)
Remove the door and frame to prevent damage.
(fig. 1.2 and fig. 1.4)
Make sure that the front of the installation box is flush with
the finished wall (dotted line F fig.1.2).
5. After plastering / painting / finishing the false chimney breast,
the frame and door of the installation box can be mounted.
Provide the installation box with plastic protection to prevent
any damage to the electronics caused by construction debris
and dust.
4.3
Installing the exhaust gas discharge pipes
•
Build the system from the fireplace.
•
In case of a passage through the ceiling, the hole must be at
least 10 mm larger than the diameter of the discharge pipe.
In case of a passage through flammable materials, you must
follow all applicable construction guidelines. To isolate the
structure from the heat of the pipe
•
Make sure to use the clamping straps.
•
Any parts that can be shortened should be secured with self
tapping screws.
•
Horizontal sections should be installed with a slope towards
the fireplace (3 degrees).
•
Do not insulate but ventilate any pipes which are in an
enclosed structure. (approx. 100 cm²).
4.3.1
Mounting the chimney unit
The flue gas fan must be connected to the control unit with a 3-core
cable (fig. 1.3)
Make sure to prevent any contact between that cable from the flue
gas fan to the control unit and the hot parts of the fireplace/the
pipes. For details, see “Instruction 4 Seasons Premium”
4.4
Constructing the false chimney breast
Always perform an operation test of the fireplace before permanent-
ly enclosing the unit.
See chapter 5, “Checking the technical installation”.
The minimum fireplace opening is 749x639mm (WXH). To ensure
that the glass of the fire can be removed remember to take into
account the thickness of the finish!
