Analog RGB/YUV input card (Quantum Elite only)
Analog RGB/YUV cards are installed immediately to the left of the DVI cards. Connect one
or two analog RGB graphics sources or HD video sources (in RGB or component YPrPb
format) to the VGA connectors on this card.
•
Input connectors:
The RGB/YUV input card contains two female 15-pin VGA
connectors. The Quantum Control Software identifies the inputs by the connector to
which they are attached. The upper connector is recognized as input 1. The bottom
connector is input 2.
Example:
The top VGA connector on the card in slot 4 is identified as 4.1.
•
Cables:
The recommended cable type for this RGB connection is a low-loss 75
ohms cable with a maximum length of 32 feet (10 meters). If more inputs are required,
you can use multiple card frames.
The Quantum Elite 615 model can accommodate up to 14 input cards, allowing a
maximum of 28 RGB or HD source inputs (two per card). The Quantum Elite 408 can
accommodate up to 7 input cards, allowing a maximum of 14 RGB/YPrPb video source
inputs.
Down-scaling of RGB or HD video sources
The on-board scaler provides down-scaling of RGB and HD sources. Independent
horizontal and vertical scaling is possible down to 1/16 of native resolution. For example,
a source of 1600x1200 pixels can be scaled down to around 100x75 pixels.
More than one scaled version of each source is possible, subject to the maximum number
of sources supported by the scaler.
In the following table, “Real Time” refers to the number of windows that can be created
without any reduction in frame rate. “Absolute” refers to the maximum number of windows
that can be created.
