Setting the Wavelength
Setting the Wavelength
For accurate optical attenuation/reflection, it is essential that the
attenuator/reflector wavelength be set as closely as possible to the
wavelength of the optical source. The IQ-3100 module provides calibrated
optical attenuation at 0.1 nm resolution over a wide range; 1200 nm to
1650 nm for singlemode modules and 700 nm to 1350 nm for multimode
modules. The IQ-3300 provides calibrated optical reflection at 0.1 nm
resolution over a wide range; 1200 nm to 1650 nm for singlemode
modules.
To set the operating wavelength,
➤
Use the
F2
button
OR
➤
Select a wavelength from the
λ
list box.
In both cases, the values contained in the
λ
list box determine which
wavelengths may be selected. To find out how to add or delete values,
see
Customizing the Wavelength List
on page 25.
Note:
When switching to a new wavelength, the attenuator/reflector will
reposition in order to keep the same attenuation/reflection setting for the
new wavelength.
To change the wavelength from the list box,
1.
From the main window, open the
λ
list box (shown below).
2.
Click on the desired value.
