Configuration of the Killer NIC Software
This will give an overview for the installation and the use of the Qualcomm Killer
NIC™ Suite. To use the Killer Performance Software, you must first connect a
CAT5/CAT5e/CAT6 Ethernet cable to the Killer Ethernet jack (see Page 15 for Killer
Ethernet location), and install the Killer Suite software package. This software will
NOT work with the Intel NIC.
Please keep in mind that the purpose of the Killer NIC and accompanying software is
*NOT* to make your GB/S network suddenly faster; instead, the Killer Suite allows you
to configure upstream and downstream bandwidth allocation on an application-by-
application basis, giving you a very basic QOS-type set of controls with a simplified
GUI. Using the software, you can control which application gets exactly how much
upload and download speed/bandwidth. You can also deny bandwidth to applications
altogether, as well.
1. Go to
www.evga.com/support/drivers
, click on the Motherboard tab, select Z270 –
Killer NIC – Your OS (Windows 10 x64 was used in this manual), then the submit
button at the bottom to download. Once downloaded, extract and run the installer.
Once you have extracted the files, go into the folder labeled “KillerSuite,”
and you’ll see files and folders similar to what’s contained in the image
below. Double-click on “Setup” to launch the installer.
