Revision 2.4.1

OPERATION

Turn the

SHAFT ENCODER

knob to change the value of the displayed parameter. When the value

shown is not the active value the display will stop blinking. When you have selected the desired
parameter value press the

SELECT

key to make that value the active value. (The display will start

blinking again). Press the

ESC

key when the display is blinking to move back up the menu to the top

saving your selection. You can press the

ESC

key when the display is not blinking to move back up the

menu to the top level without saving your selection. You can select other menu items from the top level
by turning the

SHAFT ENCODER

knob, followed by the

SELECT

key. Alternately you can exit the

setup menu and return to the normal

DISPLAY

mode by pressing the

ESC

key.

Figure 3-2 gives an overview of the setup menu. Sections 3.4 to 3.7 provide detailed descriptions of the

GENERATOR, READER, VCG

and

UTILITY SETUP

menus. The tables in these sections are

arranged in an indented structure to indicate the path taken to reach the control.

3.4.

CONFIGURING THE GENERATOR

The

GENERATOR SETUP

menu is used to set up various generator modes such as selecting Drop

Frame, Jam Sync Modes, ATC Generator Line number, whether user bits contain static numbers or
time information, etc. The chart below shows the items available in the

GENERATOR SETUP

menu.

Sections 3.4.1 to 3.4.9 give detailed information about each of the sub-menus.

GEN MODE

Sets the operating mode of the LTC and ATC generators

GEN ATC TYPE

Selects whether LTC or VITC or both ATC packets will be inserted

GEN DROP FRAME

Configures the generator drop frame mode

GEN LTC PARITY

Configures the parity of the LTC generator

GEN NO CODE JAM

Configures the action when input code is missing and the HD9010TM is
in continuous JAM sync mode
