1. Secure child restraint to the vehicle seat.
•
Child restraint is in Position #2 or #3 (page 22).
•
Install with vehicle seat belt (page 22) or LATCH
system (page 27).
• Install tether strap (pages 26 or 31).
•
Install locking clip, if necessary (page 24).
2. Set the child in the child restraint.
The top of the child’s ears
MUST
be below the top
of the child restraint seat back.
3. Make necessary adjustments.
•
Red harness tabs
MUST
be at shoulder level
(page 32).
•
Crotch strap should be snug against the child
(page 35).
4. Fasten the buckle.
Refer to page 33.
5. Position and connect chest clip.
Chest clip
MUST
be at armpit level (page 33).
6. Check your work.
•
Child restraint is in Position #2 or #3 (page 22).
•
The child restraint
DOES NOT
move more than
1 in. (25 mm) forward or side-to-side (pages 23
and 30).
•
The child’s back and bottom are flat against the
back and bottom surfaces of the child restraint.
•
Red harness tabs are
AT
shoulder level (page 32).
•
Buckle tongues are fully engaged.
• Tether strap is securely attached and tightened
(pages 26 or 31).

Forward-facing
Child Requirements for Forward-facing:
•
Weight:
20 to 50 lbs (9 to 22.6 kg)
•
Maximum Height:
Not greater than 50 in. (127 cm)
AND the top of the child’s ears are at or below the
child restraint seat back.
•
Age:
At least one year of age.
If your child weighs more than 50 lbs (22.6 kg) or
their shoulders are above the highest harness level,
you
MUST
discontinue use or the child restraint
will not protect your child.
