The child restraint
MUST
be in
Position 3 or 4
for
forward-facing use. Child
MUST
weigh 10 to 29.4 kg
(22 to 65 lbs) and be at least
2 years old.
Forward-facing Upright
When the Child Restraint is forward-facing, it can
ONLY
be used in
Recline Positions 3 and 4
.
Position 4a:
For U.S. Consumers Only
Move Recline Stand and Recline
Stand Leg up, to allow child
restraint to sit flat on the vehicle
seat, keeping the child upright.
Secure child restraint onto vehicle
seat
Position 3:
For U.S. Consumers Only
Move Recline Stand up without
the Recline Stand Leg, to allow
child restraint to sit lower on the
vehicle seat, keeping the child
slightly reclined.

Canadian seats do not

Forward-Facing Recline Positions 3 & 4:

Place baby in the child restraint.
The baby’s back
and
bottom should be flat against the restraint.
If there is
a gap, the baby will not be comfortable.

Bring each harness strap
over the child’s shoulders.
Insert the buckle tongues
into the buckle.
Pull up on the harness strap
to check that the buckle
tongues are fastened.
Fasten the chest clip by
snapping the two halves
together, as shown.
Slide chest clip to armpit
level.

The harness straps must be
snug against the child.
A snug strap should not allow
any slack. It lies in a
relatively straight line without
sagging. It does not press on
the child’s flesh or push the
child’s body into an unnatural
position. Check the harness
straps near the shoulders for
slack. You should
NOT
be
able to pinch the harness
(see illustration). Adjust as
needed.
