MANUAL TIME SETTING AND SETTING THE TIME
ZONE
If reception of the time signal is not possible, the watch can also be set manually.
The precondition is that the 12:00 positioning of the hands has been performed
correctly (see "Positioning the hands").
-
Press the push-button (B) for about 2 seconds, until the time zone indicator
is shown in the display (C). This is normally the EU indicator for the DCF time
signal.
-
Adjust the desired time zone with the push-button (A):
EU = European time zone (DCF)
2H to 7H = Time offset compared to Greenwich Time (+2 to +7 h)
CN = Chinese time zone (JJY)
JP = Japanese time zone (JJY)
10H to 12H = Time offset compared to Greenwich Time (+10 to +12 h)
-12H to -9H = Time offset compared to Greenwich Time (-12 to -9 h)
US-P = USA, Pacifi c Time (WWVB)
US-M = USA, Mountain Time (WWVB)
US-C = USA, Central Time (WWVB)
US-E = USA, Eastern Time (WWVB)
-4H to -1H = Time offset compared to Greenwich Time (-4 to -1 h)
UK = British time zone (MSF)
-
Press the push-button (B) again and use the push-button (A) to adjust the mode
for the summer time conversion:
AUTO = automatic change for summer/winter time
ON = manual setting for summer time on
OFF = manual setting for summer time off
-
Press the push-button (B) again and use the push-button (A) to set the hours.
-
Proceed as described above and set the minutes, seconds, year, month and date.
Push-button (B) selects the value to be adjusted and push-button (A) is used to
change the respective value.
-
Finally, press push-button (B) to store the setting and to return to the normal
display.
If a time zone with signal reception is set (DCF, MSF, JJY or WWVB), the
watch continues to attempt to receive the corresponding time signal and
sets itself automatically upon a successful reception. This is then apparent
from the reception symbol showing in the display (C).
DISPLAY
The date is normally shown in the display (C).
-
Press the push-button (A) to display the seconds and the weekday.
-
Press (A) again, to view the set time zone.
-
Press (A) again or wait a few seconds to return to the date display.
CHANGING THE BATTERIES
-
If a battery symbol is shown on the display (C), the battery has to be replaced.
-
Replacing the battery should be done by a specialist, using special clockmaker
tools and professional knowledge.
-
To replace the battery, the back of the case is removed.
-
The battery can then be removed from its holder and be replaced.
RESTART AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY
-
After a battery change, the indicator 00:00 fl ashes in the display (C).
-
Position the hour and minute hands to the 12:00 position, as described in "Posi-
tioning the hands".
-
Afterward, the watch attempts a reception and will set itself to the correct time
after successful reception.
SLEEP MODE
If no button has been pressed for a month, the watch switches into sleep mode.
In this mode, the display is switched off and the automatic synchronization with the
time signal occurs only once a week to save energy.
To return to normal mode, simply press any button.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
To clean the outside of the watch, a dry soft clean cloth is suffi cient. For heavier
soiling of the exterior, you can moisten the cloth slightly with lukewarm water.
Clean the watch very carefully; otherwise you may scratch it.
Do not press too heavily on the glass cover, as this can lead to breakage.
SHOCK RESISTANCE
In normal use, the wristwatch is protected against shocks. Nevertheless, do not
expose the device to extreme shocks such as might occur if e.g. the device falls onto
a hard surface. This may damage the clockwork or the position of the hands may be
changed (Positioning the hands is described earlier in this manual).
