If the lever is not locked to secure it, the bicycle car-
rier could become detached from the vehicle during
the journey.
Injury to people or damage to property due
to unsecured bicycle carrier.
A loose connection between the carrier and the
tow hitch can cause the bicycle carrier to become
detached.
Injury to people or damage to property due to
loss of the bicycle carrier during the journey.
Locking also prevents potential theft of the bicycle
carrier.
Lock the bicycle carrier.

Check that the bicycle carrier is fixed securely.

Check that you have locked the lever and remo-
ved the key.

If the connection is loose, repeat steps 1 to 14.
If no improvement occurs, the quick-release
mechanism may require adjustment; see the
chapter on Maintenance.
