Once the system has been drained, the coffee machine will switch off.
DESCALING
The coffee machine needs to be descaled at regular intervals to avoid build-up of scale
deposits (at least once a month, depending on the frequency of use and on the water
hardness). Descale the coffee machine as soon as the descale indicator
B10
is displayed
(after approx. 20 litres of water). Descaling increases the coffee machine service life and
reduces the electricity costs.
To descale the coffee machine, use regular liquid descaling
agents for coffee machines and espresso machines. Any other detergents could damage
the materials in the coffee machine and/or might not work. Do not use vinegar or descaling
agents based on formic acid, etc.
This process cannot be stopped. However, should it happen (e.g. in case of a power cut), the
process needs to be completed once the coffee machine is turned on again. While descaling,
the use of the coffee machine is blocked. The entire process takes about 15 minutes.
Descaling procedure:
1) If the coffee machine is on, turn it off.
2) Remove the water tank and fill it with the descaling agent. Follow the instructions given by
the manufacturer of the descaling agent.
3) Place an empty bowl under the outflow and the steam nozzle (min. capacity 500 ml) under
the coffee spout. You will need to empty the container several times during the process.
4) Turn the coffee machine on with the switch
A1
and wait until all the buttons come on.
5) Press the switch
A1
and the espresso button
B1
simultaneously and keep them
pressed for approx. 5 seconds until you hear two signal sounds.
6) The descaling icon
B10
and the espresso button
B1
will start flashing.
7) To start the descaling process, press the espresso button
B1
the descaling symbol will
flashing. If it has not started, you can stop the operation by pressing the switch
A1
.
8) The coffee machine draws the solution with the descaling agent into the piping system of
the coffee machine several times at 40-second intervals. It discharges approx. 50 ml of
the descaling solution into the container provided. So that the container does not overflow,
empty it after each drawing process.
9) When the process of limescale removal is finished, the no water icon
B6
will start to
flash and the espresso button
B1
will light up.
10) Remove the water tank
C
from the coffee machine and wash it thoroughly.
Flushing phase
11) Leave an external bowl under the outflow, which you will need to empty (based on its
size) repeatedly.
12) Fill the water tank
C
up to the MAX mark and place it back into the coffee machine.
13) The lack of water icon
B6
will go out and the flushing process will be started. Part of
water will be used for rinsing. Then the coffee maker will stop for approx. 1 minute and
consequently the second part of rinsing will be made. Pour possible residual water out.
Approximately one-half of the water from the tank will be used for rinsing. Then the
coffee maker will stop for approx. 1 minute. Consequently, the second half of the tank
will empty.
Once the flush phase has been finished, the descaling process will be completed and the
coffee machine will switch off.
