SAFE USAGE
This hedge trimmer is especially designed for trimming hedges. Never use it for any other purpose. Never try
to cut stones, metals, plastics or any other hard objects. Using the machine for any other purpose than trim-
ming hedges or similar may damage the machine and cause serious personal injuries.
Working position
Hold the control handle with your right hand and the shaft with your left hand. Your left arm should be extend-
ed to the most comfortable position.
NOTE! Always take a break when you feel tired.
Cutting sequence
- Use lopping shears to cut out thick branches first.
- If a radial cut is necessary, cut a little at a time in several phases.
Working techniques
- Horizontal cutting: Hold the blade at an angle of 0° – 10° as you swing the machine horizontally. Swing the
blade in an arc towards the outside of the hedge so that the cuttings are swept on to the ground.
- Vertical cutting: Swing the blade up and down in an arc as you move along the hedge. Use both sides of
the blade.
HEDGE TRIMMER MAINTENANCE
Daily maintenance
- Remove all dirt and debris from the hedge trimmer cutter blades. Lubricate the cutters before use and after
refueling. Check the cutters for damage or incorrect adjustment.
Horizontal cutting:
Cutting without standing
directly in front of the
hedge, e.g. reaching
over a flowerbed.
Vertical cutting:
Cutting without standing
directly next to the
hedge, e.g. flowerbed
between operator and
hedge.
Overhead cutting:
When cutting a top surface
of a hedge, hold the shaft
upright with a 90° blade
angle.
Horizontal cutting:
Cutting close to ground
from a standing position,
e.g. low shrubs.
