Hardware Installation

2.4 Starting-Up

To put the CAN-CBX-CPU5201 into operation, please follow the installation notes.

Step

Procedure

Read the safety instructions at the beginning of this document carefully, before
you start with the hardware installation!

Please note the chapters “Installation and Wiring of the Module“ and ““!

1.

Mount   the  CAN-CBX-CPU5201  module   and   connect   the   interfaces  (power   supply
voltage, CAN, etc.).

2.

Please note that the CAN bus has to be terminated at both ends!

connectors and termination connectors. Additionally the CAN_GND signal has to be
connected to earth at 

exactly one

 point in the CAN network.  

Refer to chapter “” (page 38) for further information.
A CAN participant with a CAN interface which is not electrically isolated corresponds
to the grounding of the CAN-GND.

3.

CAN-CBX-CPU5201-PLC only:
For starting up the  CAN-CBX-CPU5201  proceed as described in chapter “Appendix
CAN-CBX-CPU5201-PLC from page 48.

4.

Switch on the 24 V-power supply voltage of the CAN-CBX-CPU5201.
